Darcy Tannehill (EdD ’09) was diagnosed in 2012 with light chain amyloidosis, a rare disease caused by the production of abnormal protein (called amyloid) in the body. She quickly became passionate about amyloidosis research, education, and support. read more
Richard S. Caliguiri Endowed Chair in Amyloidosis and Heart Failure
The Pittsburgh Foundation and the University of Pittsburgh have agreed to fund the Richard S. Caliguiri Endowed Chair in Amyloidosis and Heart Failure. The endowment will allow the VMI to recruit a distinguished amyloidosis investigator who will lead basic science research efforts focused on amyloidosis causes and interventions. read more
